Wow, how time flies when you’re… flying. My name is Brian and I’m a SENIOR (hallelujah, praise Jesus) Professional Flight major at LeTourneau. I have spent the past three and a half years here learning about planes, planes, and then big planes. Now, it is time to put into action what I have learned. I am currently looking at several different companies to work for after I graduate. I have already interviewed with one and am waiting for a reply. As of right now, one of the possibilities is to be a flight instructor here at LeTourneau, passing on my addiction of being up in the clouds to the next round of students.
When it comes to the job search, it is not just what you know academically. It also has a lot to do with getting yourself seen by the other companies. LeTourneau does a great job of that. My RD-resident director-of my residence hall helped me step by step on preparing my resume specifically for the aviation industry. I also had a professor go through a list of airlines that a lot of college grads go to, saying which airlines were the best to apply to.
Through what I have learned here at LeTourneau I am confident in my abilities and knowledge about being a pilot. The professors are not teaching a classroom of students, they are teaching future pilots. Each professor knows that responsibility and does their best to make sure the student has the information they need to be successful. That is the reason why I am confident in what I have learned at LeTourneau. With that knowledge, I am looking forward to “landing” that perfect job.

I have interviewed with AirNet Systems, Inc. As soon as I get a few more flight hours, I am going to interview with Chautauqua Airlines. I want to go to Chautauqua after I flight instruct at LeTourneau for about a year.
